Runes, The Ancient Oracle is a program based on the ancient Viking Runes.
Runes are an Oracle similar to the Tarot cards or I Ching. Their origin dates back to approximately 1300 B.C. The name "Runes" was derived from the Gothic Runa, defined as "a mystery" or "a secret thing". Runes were often carved into tools, alters, weapons, and rocks, as well as personal items. These Runes were used for the purpose of divination and arousing the higher powers of influence. These powers were used for influence relating to various elements of life which included harvest time, tides, weather, healing, etc...
Runes, The Ancient Oracle consists of 25 individual Runes, 16 of which have a different meaning when they are "upside down" or "reversed". The other 9 Runes are referred to as "Non-Reversible" Runes. Typically, a Rune is picked out of a pouch (referred to as "Casting the Runes"), and its interpretation is meant to be an insight into a matter or situation, or a question asked.
There are many different ways to use the Runes, depending on which "spread" you are using. Some of the spreads use more than one Rune, so you can consult the Runes with the same question or situation more than once using the different spreads. The number of Runes in the spread will determine the complexity of detail that will be perceived.
